Two schools in the United Arab Emirates commemorated the GIS Day 2010. The event was held by Abu Dhabi International School (AIS) in the capital on November 23 and Noura Bint Sultan High School in Ras Al Khaimah on November 24. The celebrations were organized by the respective schools in cooperation with GISTEC, the official Esri Distributor in the UAE.

More than 1000 students from Grades 4, 5, 9 and 10 of AIS and Noura Bint Sultan High School attended the GIS lectures and presentations given by GISTEC. They participated actively in the question-and-answer portion after the lecture and played enthusiastically during the games. Both the teachers and the students had lively interactions with each other during the duration of the program.

Mugs and GIS Day shirts were distributed as prizes to the students and teachers after the activities. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to both the pupils and the faculty staff who participated in the event.
