ESRI offers an integrated collection of GIS software products for building a complete GIS. ArcGIS family of products enables organizations to deploy GIS functionality wherever it is needed - in desktops, servers, or custom applications; over the Web; or in the field. ESRI products are grouped into two main categories: Desktop GIS and Server GIS.

Desktop GIS is used to create, visualize, edit, and analyze geospatial data on the desktop and generate professional quality maps, reports, and g raphs. ArcGIS Desktop is used to discover patterns, relationships, and trends in your data that are not readily apparent in databases, spreadsheets, or statistical packages. ArcGIS Desktop gives you the power to manage and integrate data, perform advanced analysis, model and automate work-flows, and display results.

Server GIS allows GIS data and applications to be centrally managed on a server and delivered to a large number of users over a network. GIS functions are delivered as services throughout the enterprise. ArcGIS Server is IT-compliant and inter-operable with other enterprise software such as CRM and ERP systems.
